A little on Hayden..

So Hayden has become our little water dog in the last few weeks. He's always been on the boat so he knows the water well but for some reason at the beginning of this summer he was a little skeptical of it. Last summer he loved it! So a couple weeks ago we were at our friends' pool and he just got in and started swimming around. He even jumped off their diving board to someone. We were so excited! Later that weekend he went up to the lake with Grammy and Papa and just got right in there too, jumping off the boat to Grammy as well. He loves it! Last week he was camping with Grammy and Papa and did lots of swimming. It's definitely time to get him into swim lessons for sure cause he is loving the water. Once he gets in it's hard to get him out. He's getting so big and independent these days. It's sad but exciting at the same time.

6 weeks old already!

So Austin is 1 1/2 months old today. He's starting to change in so many ways. His neck is getting stronger and he can hold it up somewhat. More and more smiles are coming out of him everyday, it's so cute! He is still loving to be held all the time which is challenging with Hayden and trying to get anything else done. Last night he slept in 3 hour increments and only got up at 2:15 and 5:15 which was a blessing for me!! The night before that he was up every 2 hrs. on the dot and I was exhausted! So we still don't have a good sleep pattern down yet but hopefully he will get on it sooner than later. He's getting so big and his newborn clothes are starting to not fit anymore. Last weekend we took a trip up to the lake to visit my parents and Austin did great. He pretty much slept the whole time unless he was eating. My dad dipped his feet in the water and he wasn't too excited about that. Hayden's been on the boat since he was born so hopefully Austin will enjoy it just as much as him. 4 weeks old

So 4 weeks has come and gone! I cannot believe it. Austin is getting bigger every day it seems. This week he has started to smile and even has given us a few coos when we are talking to him. I love it!! He's still fitting into his newborn clothes barely but has moved from newborn diapers into size 1. Sleeping is still something that is up in the air every night. He's pretty much getting up twice around 2-3am and then again around 5am but every once and a while we get a night where he's up more. He still is liking being held a lot which is still a bit of a problem at night. He starts off good but after he gets up that first time it's hard to get him to stay asleep in the bassinet. Ryan usually ends up on the recliner with him. Yesterday Austin and I went golfing with the boys. Well I didn't golf but Austin and I drove a cart. It was nice and relaxing to just put around and watch since it was so nice out. Austin did excellent and loved the bumpy rides every now and then. Hayden is still doing good with him but is starting to act up a bit more lately. He likes to wait till I'm nursing and then gets into things he knows he's not supposed to cause he knows I'm busy. All in all he's been pretty good though. Here are some 4 week old pics of little Austin.....

2 nights in a row!

So it's now been 2 nights in a row where Austin has given us some sleep! He pretty much woke up the same 2 times both nights. Maybe, just maybe that means we are getting on some sort of schedule now! That would be so nice. He's starting to stay awake more during the day too so that is probably helping. Now I'm just crossing my fingers it's gonna stay like this for another night! I don't know how mom's of multiples do it, they must get no sleep at all with more than one!!

3 weeks!!!!

Wow! 3 weeks has flown by since Austin's birth! I can't believe he's only a week away from being a whole month old. It really seems like I just gave birth last week. Minus the fact that my body finally feels normal. He's grown so much. His clothes are already starting to finally fit him and he's filling out. He loves to eat! Thankfully that is going great. We are loving how he likes to snuggle all the time because we know it doesn't last long. One thing we are still working on is his sleeping at night. He has given us about 3 good nights out of all so far where we actually got like 2 or 3 full hour stretches! Needless to say we're exhausted. Hayden is still doing great! Today he got out his stuffed animals and would bring them to Austin one by one showing them to him. Then he decided that he wanted to share his blankie with him as well. It was so cute. I feel so blessed to have 2 wonderful, healthy little boys. We are loving every second of them both!

Hayden's favorite thing to do is give Austin kisses throughout the day. He also is starting to finally give us a "cheese" for a picture!

Day at Saturday Market and the Fountains

So we spent Saturday last weekend over in Corvallis. We got up early and picked up my parents and headed over to the Saturday market on the waterfront. Hayden was in love with all the fresh fruit!! He ate a whole pint of blueberries himself that day! Talk about not so nice diaper for me later. After the market we went to lunch at American Dream Pizza and then hit up the fountains for Hayden afterwards. He loves the fountains and all the kids that are there to chase around and play with.
